An Introduction to Imunify360

We recommend clients with virtual or dedicated servers take the Imunify360 security suite, to ensure that their server is best protected from a wide range of threats. 

This is a service we run on all of our shared servers, however on a virtual or dedicated server, there are additional licensing fees.

What is Imunify360?

Imunify360 is a complete security suite; a fully automated solution to provide the best possible level of protection for your server.

Imunify360 is designed to protect against a variety of threats, including malware, viruses, and other types of cyber attacks.

It includes a number of different security features and tools that can be used to detect and prevent security breaches.

Some of the key features of Imunify360 include:

• Malware scanning and removal: Imunify360 can detect malware through on-demand, daily and real-time malware scanning of all data that is written to disk. Not only can it detect malware, but it will also quarantine files and in the case of injected code, clean the files to return them to their original state.
• Firewall: Imunify360 includes a firewall that can be used to block incoming traffic from known malicious sources and to monitor traffic for suspicious activity. The firewall uses machine learning and a shared IP reputation database to provide best-in-class protection against malicious networks.
• Intrusion detection and prevention: Imunify360 includes an intrusion detection and prevention system (IDPS) that can detect and prevent cyber attacks by analysing traffic patterns and identifying suspicious activity.
• Proactive Defense: Imunify360 uses a proactive defense mechanism that identifies and blocks new threats before they can harm the server. It does this by analysing executions on the server in real time, identifying and blocking malicious code executions. This helps to keep the server secure against emerging threats that may not yet be recognised by other security solutions.
• Fast and Lightweight: Imunify360 is designed to be fast and lightweight, which means it does not slow down the server or affect its performance. This makes it an ideal security solution for high-traffic websites and applications that require high levels of performance.

Do I need Imunify360 if I already run a plugin-level security application?

Whilst an application-level security plugin, such as WordFence for WordPress, can provide some protection, this is much more limited in scope.

Imunify360 is a comprehensive security solution that is designed to protect the entire server from various types of attacks, while a security plugin is only designed to protect the application itself.

• Imunify360 provides server-wide protection against a range of security threats, including malware, brute force attacks, and DDoS attacks. A security plugin only protects the application, leaving the server vulnerable to other types of attacks.
• Imunify360 performs deep server-level scanning to detect and remove malware infections, while security plugins only scan the application itself for infections. This means that Imunify360 can detect and remove malware that may not be present in the application layer.
• Imunify360 can prevent malicious activity from reaching your application at all, you are not relying on the application itself to provide protection.
• Imunify360 uses a proactive defense mechanism that can identify and block new threats before they can harm the server, while security plugins only provide reactive protection. 
• Imunify360 is extremely lightweight. Some security plugins can be resource-intensive and can slow down the application, affecting the user experience.

Whilst you may wish to continue to use a security plugin even with Imunify360 installed, this is largely surplus to requirements. We'd strongly advise against relying on a security plugin alone.

How much does Imunify360 cost?

Imunify is licensed based on the number of cPanel accounts on the server, and comes in 5, 30, 250 and Unlimited Account variants.
