Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in MyKualo
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your MyKualo account. This article will guide you through the process of enabling 2FA using Google Authenticator.
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
2FA is a security measure that requires you to provide two forms of identification before gaining access to an account. In this case, you'll need your password and a verification code generated by Google Authenticator.
How to Enable 2FA
Important!
Before proceeding, ensure you have downloaded the Google Authenticator app, or that you're using a compatible password manager such as 1Password which can store 2FA logins.
- Log into your MyKualo account.
- Use the dropdown menu at the top right where it says your name.
- Select 'Edit Account Details' from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the 'Two Factor Authentication' tab.
- Click on 'Enable 2FA'.
- Scan the on-screen barcode using the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Note down the backup code provided on the same screen.
Important Points to Consider
- When you next log in, you will need to use the Google Authenticator app to generate a verification code.
- Tools like 1Password can also be used to scan the on-screen barcode.
- It's crucial to set up your app and note down the backup code. Failure to do so will require you to provide identification to disable 2FA and regain access to your account.
