Creating an Automated Welcome Email
A confirmation or welcome email is a message that's sent after a particular action, such as joining an email list. With MailMachine, you can automate this process and adapt it to match your brand.
Why this is important
The first impression your subscribers will have of your newsletter comes from your welcome emails. They provide an opportunity to greet customers and request that they add your email address to their safe senders list. Personalising your confirmation email also adds a human touch to your communication.
How to create your welcome email automation
Automating your confirmation email leads to instant and smooth engagement with your subscribers. Here's how to set it up:
- Select Automations in the top menu.
- Click the Green + Sign to initiate a new automation.
- Choose an existing list and click Continue to link the new automation.
- In the Prebuilt automations tab, select the Welcome new contacts panel. This will take you to the edit automation page.
- Set the delay for the action on edit condition:
- Pick the Send email action from the workflow display.
- Click on Edit to modify the email.
- Utilise the email designer to make your confirmation email unique. Learn more about this tool here.
- Once you've finished editing the email, click on Save and exit.
- Activate the automation by selecting the button at the top right.
- Choose Save and exit.
Your personalised welcome email will be sent to new recipients automatically when they subscribe to your content, following the specified delay.
