One of the biggest challenges for any web hosting customer is transferring their web site to a new web hosting provider. For this reason, within your first 30 days as a customer, we offer a free web site migration service.
Once your order is activated, login to your MyKualo client area, click Support > Transfer Website
We offer two migration types.
A Standard Migration is from another cPanel hosting provider, and allows us to migrate all of your content exactly as you have it at the previous host. All of your account data, emails, subdomains, databases and all other settings will be packaged up and migrated so you have an exact replica of your existing hosting account at your current provider.
If your current provider doesn't use cPanel, we can still migrate your data however this will be a Manual Migration. A manual migration requires us to manually move your files across and set everything up from scratch. We can import any existing email data, however again this is a manual process. As manual migrations take us longer for us to do, they are limited to one website/application per account and up to 5 email address data syncs. If you have more websites or applications to migrate to your account, this will be possible for a small surcharge.
On the next screen, you'll be able to select the account to which you'd like to migrate your content to. If you only have one account, then we'll jump straight into that.
We explain the migration types.
If you are within your 30 day free migration window, this will be made clear and the number of days remaining will be displayed.
Click the blue Request a Migration button to start the process.
We'll ask you a number of questions which will help us understand more about your migration requirements.
When you have answered all the questions, submit your migration request and we'll create a ticket and internal task for us to processs the migration.
If we run into any problems, we'll let you know via the ticket. You are also free to contact us any time via this same ticket if you have additional information to share.
Before starting this process it's a good idea to have the following things ready.
If your old host does not use cPanel and you'd like us to migrate emails, we'll also need a list of the current email addresses and their passwords. This is so that we can connect to do a sync of any existing email data.
If you don't use your host for emails and use a 3rd party service (such as Google or Office365) you'll have the opportunity to let us know about this in the form.
If a fee is due because you're outside the 30 day free migration window, or because we're doing a manual migration and you have more than one application/website or more than 5 email addresses, you'll be able to pay this when submitting the migration request.
- If you are migrating from a cPanel control panel, your E-Mail accounts, messages and forwarders will be migrated as well. You will only need to reconfigure your E-Mail client, so it could be connecting to your new web hosting account:
We have covered the process for most of the email clients in our Knowledgebase:
- If you are migrating from another control panel - you will need to recreate the email accounts first:
