How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Your WHM Account

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your WHM (WebHost Manager) account by requiring two forms of identification: something you know (your password) and something you have (a unique code generated by an authenticator app on your mobile device).

Here's how to enable 2FA on your WHM account:

Step 1: Install an Authenticator App

Before you can enable 2FA on your WHM account, you need to install an authenticator app on your mobile device. Examples of such apps include Google Authenticator, Authy, and Duo Mobile.

Step 2: Log in to WHM

Log into your WHM account using your credentials.
On the WHM home screen, search for Two-Factor Authentication in the top left search bar.
Click on the Two-Factor Authentication link under the Security Center section.

Step 3: Enable Two-Factor Authentication

On the Two-Factor Authentication page, click the Manage My Account tab.
Click on the Set Up Two-Factor Authentication button.

Step 4: Set Up Your Authenticator App

Open the authenticator app on your mobile device.
Use the app to scan the QR code displayed on your WHM Two-Factor Authentication setup page. Alternatively, you can manually enter the provided Account and Key information into your app.
The app will generate a unique six-digit code.

Step 5: Confirm Two-Factor Authentication Setup

Enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app into the Security Code field on the WHM Two-Factor Authentication setup page.
Click Configure Two-Factor Authentication.

You've successfully enabled Two-Factor Authentication on your WHM account. You will now be required to enter both your WHM password and the unique code from your authenticator app each time you log in.

Troubleshooting

If you're unable to scan the QR code, make sure your device's camera is working properly. If you're still having problems, you can manually enter the Account and Key information into your app. If you continue to experience difficulties, please contact support for further assistance.
