This demo assumes you've already logged in to cPanel. Please note that installing an SSL certificate requires a dedicated IP address. Only proceed with the steps outlined below if you have a dedicated IP address on your account. These are available for £24 / $36 per year. If you're not sure if you have a dedicated IP address, please log a ticket on our helpdesk and we will be happy to let you know or add one to your account.
Now let's learn how to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) in cPanel
1) Click the SSL/TLS Manager icon
2) Click the link that says 'Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys.'
3) Scroll to where it says 'Generate a New Kay' and select your domain name from the drop down. You can leave the key size field as it is, and press Generate.
4) This will generate your Private Key, and take you to the following screen:
5) Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the button that says 'Return to SSL Manager'
6) Click the link that says 'Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests'
7) Scroll to where it says 'Generate a New Certificate Signing Request', select your domain in the drop down (from the key you just generated), and fill out the form with your details. Note that the country code should be the two letter country code - i.e. for the United Kingdom, this should be GB. If you enter all fields correctly, green ticks will appear to the right of each field. Press Generate.
8) Provided your account is on a dedicated IP address, this will successfully generate your CSR. You should copy and paste the CSR on this page. You will need to paste in the CSR when you submit your certificate order, either with Kualo, or with any other SSL company.
