It's possible to add a background to a Page, which can be done via the Edit Page Settings area:
And then selecting the Background tab.
However, generally speaking, this is not the best way to work with backgrounds.
The better way to work with backgrounds would be to apply them to a particular layout, rather than the page as a whole.
1. Click the Layout you'd like to add a background to. In the Layout menu on the right side, press the pencil icon to edit the background.
2. On the modal window, select the Pencil icon to select an image you'd like to add.
3. Select the image you'd like to use, or upload a new one. Then press Select.
Your background image will be added, but it may be repeating or not aligned exactly as you need it.
If you're looking for the background image to fill the size of the Layout, you would typically want to:
a) Turn off repeat both vertically and horizontally
b) Choose a central alignment of the background image
c) Turn off auto size, and select the second option to have the image fill the size of the container
Your image should now fill to cover the Layout entirely.
Tip: Depending on what content your Layout has, you may need to adjust the padding or height of the Layout in order for your background to be fully visible.
You could experiment with setting a minimum height:
You may alternatively add padding to the Layout.
An advantage of using Padding to space out the Layout would be that you can adjust the padding to be smaller on different devices. For example, you may want much smaller padding on Tablet and Mobile devices.
Once finished, you should have a background image that fills to your Layout and adjusts nicely across device types.
