When you're developing your site you will need to add new text elements.
You can do this by either dragging on a new text element, or, if you've already styled a text element and want to replicate that exact style, you may duplicate that existing element or indeed its parent Layout.
We'll explore both options in this article.
If you want to drag on a new text element, you may:
1. Hover your mouse to the 'Text' element then Drag and Drop it to where you want it to appear on the page. A range of text options will appear for you to choose from. Choose the one most appropriate.
2) The text box will be inserted in the position on your page that you selected.
3) You can edit the text by pressing the Edit Text button.
4) Replace the sample text with your own text. You can optionally adjust the text style, alignment, colour and other options using the menu above.
5) You can also choose from one of your text styles, by selecting these from the Styles list. Text styles allow you to enforce uniform text styling across the website. If you want to use a different font, you will need to set this up in the Styles settings. This can be accessed from the Edit Text screen by clicking the pencil icon next to your list of styles:
6) The Styles options allow you to define the styles of text you'd like to use across your site. You can configure the style of text once, and then use that style across the site. If you change the style in the Style options, every instance of text that is set to use that style will then adjust.
If you already have text inserted on your page, it can be easier to duplicate that text item rather than insert a new one.
To do this:
1) Select the text you'd like to duplicate. Right click and press duplicate.
2) Drag the duplicated copy of the text to the position you'd like to place it.
3) Adjust the text to the new wording you require.
